approval & timeline

The SRAIP has been more than five years in the making and the approvals process has been overseen by the Queensland Office of the Coordinator-General since the project was first declared a Coordinated Project in May 2019.

The Coordinated Project process has helped Kalfresh navigate the approvals required, informed project risks and identified opportunities to enhance outcomes for the broader community and the environment.

In May 2024 the Queensland Coordinator General released his Evaluation Report and provided ‘stated conditions’ under the SDPWO Act.

We want to start construction on the SRAIP as soon as possible but before we can begin, we must secure approvals from the Scenic Rim Regional Council for our detailed subdivision plans and operational works permits. Council has been involved in the coordinated approvals process since 2019 and the downstream planning approvals process will therefore be streamlined.
